Our little "monster" Rubie Lu turned 1 year old on February 4th. We had a monster time celebrating Rubie's big day with our families this past Saturday. Our family joined us for a pancake dinner featuring: scratch made #1 shaped pancakes with real maple syrup, real whipped cream and strawberries, and other various toppings. Also, we had breakfast casserole and orange punch. Festivities also included: Rubie's 1st Year Movie, story time, pictures, presents, and cake and ice cream. It was so great to mark Rubie's 1st birthday by partying with our families.

Yummy Birthday Cake!
I purchased a digital birthday decoration package from beeanddaisy.com via their Etsy shop. The cake was made at our local bakery, Mama's. Lindi made Rubie's one of a kind birthday shirt and bib, plus the #1. I really enjoy planning birthday parties for my girls and making their day extra special.
At 12 months Rubie is truly progressing and learning so much. She cruises all over the place and has even taken about 3 steps at a time. Rubie explores all over the house - getting into her wipes and trying to flush the toilet. She is always under foot - curious of what we're doing. Rubie now waves and says "hi". She also says "boo" (Rubie loves to play Peek-a-Boo) and "ah-oh". Rubie points and jibber-jabbers. She can fake sneeze really convincingly which makes us crack up. Rubie gives great big baby kisses. Rubie transitioned to whole milk very easily. She loves to feed herself so cheese and crackers are a favorite right now. At her 12 month well check yesterday, Feb. 7th, Rubie weighed 21.2 lbs (51.7%), measured 28 1/4 inches (23.2%) and had a head circumference of 18 3/4 inches (97.3%). It's hard to believe that our baby is already 1 year old and on her way to toddlerhood. We are so blessed and happy to have Rubie in our family. We love Rubie Lu!
