Roll'n, Roll'n, Roll'n

It's official - Addie is now mobile (somewhat). Oh-no! Just last night Addie figured out how to roll from her back to her tummy and now she is rolling nonstop. I have to admit I'm a little torn about the new development. I'm excited that she's growing, learning, and doing well, but I know that my job is going to become a little more difficult as she can now get into things. Roll, Addie, roll!

Addie had her 6 month check up today. She weighs 16 lbs 3 oz and is 26 inches tall. She's in the 53th percentile for weight and the 57th percentile for height. So, Addie is right on track - just about average. She also had her vaccinations which is always sad. Addie screamed as loud as I've ever heard her. Good thing for Tylenol. ;)

6 Months

Wednesday, April 14, 2010

Addie is 6 months old today! It's hard for us to believe that 6 months have already gone by, most days anyway ;)! We love our Addie. She makes us smile everyday. At 6 months, Addie is starting to be a wiggle worm. For the last month, she has been able to roll from her tummy to her back, and she is now getting close to rolling from her back to her tummy. Addie has now also realized that she can reach out and grab things, and without the fear of falling, she dives for the chance to get her hands on the prize. Addie laughs when we tickle her, and she's starting to think that peek-a-boo is funny. She loves tub time and has graduated to the big people tub. Addie started eating solids about two weeks ago. We've started out really slow. She has had green beans, squash, yams, avocado, pears, and bananas. She hasn't been wild about the whole eating thing, but yams seem to be her favorite so far. I found a great website about homemade baby food, http://www.wholesomebabyfood.com/. I'm not sure if I'll make all of Addie's food, but I have liked this method. Sadly Addie is now experiencing her first cold. She had a low grade fever about week ago and now has a stuffy nose and a cough. We hope she gets better soon. She has her 6 month doctor check-up on Monday.

So this funny and kind of gross picture is Addie with spit-up all over her face. I came back up stairs after changing laundry and spotted something on Addie's face from across the room. When I got closer, I couldn't help but laugh out loud because she had managed to spread the spit-up all over her face - yuck!

Addie is a patient baby. She needs to be, because I still feel like I don't know what I'm doing most of the time. She is happy and smiley. We just love her and are excited about continuing to watch her grow and learn.

Our Eggcellent Easter!

Wednesday, April 7, 2010

We had an "eggcellent" Easter! We spent our Easter break in Logan visiting family. We left Friday morning and had a long 10 hour trip due to bad weather and two stops for Addie. My sister, Lindi, was also able to make the 8 hour trip to Logan to see us. It had been 6 months since we had last seen Lindi, so she made the extra effort to visit us. Thanks again, Lindi! It was great to spend time with you.

We stayed with Uncle Mike and Aunt Juli who were very hospitable and made yummy meals for us. While visiting, we realized that we definitely miss Logan and hanging out with Mike and Juli. They're always a lot of fun!

Our limited time was basically spent visiting with all our family. Bob has a lot of family in Logan - his brother, JC, both sets of Grandparents, and four aunts and one uncle plus their spouses and kids. It was Addie's first time meeting everyone in Logan. She did great! We were a little worried, as she's starting to get some stranger anxiety. Addie was just as happy as ever. Juli commented more than once that Addie was one of the happiest babies she has ever known. I'm so glad that we were able to make the trip. It was so great to see all the family, and we had a lot of fun and a happy Easter!
